Product Description
Superbly designed using a light-weight aluminum alloy and detailed graphics, the Pogo Sketch features a look that's hard to ignore. The soft tip glides easily over the surface of your trackpad or display, making it fun and easy to sketch, draw characters, or just slide to unlock. Sized for comfort, it does away with inaccuracies common to fingertip-only use. Turn your MacBook trackpad into a pen tablet for premium drawing programs! The new multi-touch trackpads allow the Pogo Sketch to control your favorite drawing programs (like, say Scribbles). Wear gloves in the winter? We do. With an iPhone, the stylus allows you to answer calls and surf the web all while keeping your hands toasty. Longer nails can be a problem with touchscreen devices. Using your Pogo Sketch, you'll soon find that problem is history! Lastly, the cool, glossy Pogo Sketch pocket clip will keep your stylus close by, wherever you are.

iPad necessity...never mind the color June 29, 2010 G. Ware Cornell Jr. (Weston FL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Okay so it's pink...very pink. Forgetaboutit!
What this stylus does is look and feel like a pen and write to your iPad with precision. That is worth tolerating a very bad color palate, unless of course you are female, in which case it is probably so stereotyping that you may well prefer another hue.
My own guess is that this device was designed with the iPhone in mind. And given the small screen of the iPhone, the idea was probably that women might want to use something other than newly manicured nails to make phone calls. And then along comes the iPad, and that changed everything except the color.
The iPad screen like the iPhone's is what is called "multi-touch". From a technological viewpoint this refers to the ability of the screen to sense and transmit tiny electrical signals to a process defining the position and pressure of a finger on the screen and respond according. So sensitive is the technology that it generally only recognizes a finger. If you doubt this try opening a contact in your iPhone or iPad with, say, a key. Nothing will happen.
The Pogo stylus acts like a finger, and is treated by the processor just like it is a finger. Now if you are using an iPhone, basically, who cares? You don't need a pen to open a contact. Nor do you need one to open a contact with an iPad. However if all you are using your iPad is to store contacts, you are in a distinct minority.
So why do I call this stylus a necessity? Consider first of all that the iPad is a tool, and often a business tool. Let's say you are making a presentation using Keynote (Apple's version of PowerPoint). You can use the built-in laser pointer during your presentation on the fly with a touch. If you are like me and have big clumsy fingers, you will find that a stylus provides more reliable and precise control than mere fingers. An additional plus is with programs like iAnnotatepdf which allow you to draw in real time you look like you are using a pen or marker rather than finger-paint to anyone so bored with your presentation that they are watching you and not your slides.
And if they notice the color (and how can they not?), perhaps they will just assume you are really too cool to care...or something.
Wouldn't use anything else! May 10, 2010 VistaLady (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this Pogo Sketch Stylus as a replacement for the Pogo Sketch Stylus (in black) that I wore out from constant use after more than a year and a half! The Sketch stylus length is longer than the regular Pogo stylus I originally used, which I found uncomfortable to hold.
Pros:
The Sketch stylus is very comfortable to use and doesn't cramp your hand after using it awhile. Plus, it is long enough for you to see the iPhone's screen and what you are doing -- it doesn't block your view. In fact, using it increases my accuracy and speed when typing texts and emails. (I ordered a different brand of stylus once because it was on sale only to find that it wouldn't slide across the screen. In addition, the rubber tip was flattened diagonally on one side and it was impossible to use when phoning, typing, and using the apps when a larger pressure area was needed.) The Pogo stylus has a rounded end and is made of a nylon mesh, like the covering over some ear buds, and it is padded inside. It will not scratch your screen and moves firmly and easily across the screen. There is no problem in tapping for a selection or to change apps. The iPhone recognizes the "touch" of the stylus which saves my finger from swelling from too much time using an app like Bejeweled 2 or Wurdle! I first discovered the Pogo brand stylus from a review by Chris Pirillo on his website, and I saw it being used by Apple employees at the Apple store where I got my iPhone! It's a good product and I don't think anyone would be disappointed with it.
Cons:
The pocket clip at the end of the stylus can be annoying if the clip isn't sitting just right in your hand. You do have to be sure to not to use the stylus in the same position all the time, though, or it will wear more on one side and flatten out the tip. The iPhone clip which came with my first (and shorter) stylus was too large. It slipped off the phone, and detracted from the look and feel of the phone, so I never used it. I don't think the Pogo Sketch stylus has the iPhone clip, however.
Love it! May 15, 2010 Michael W. Roberts (Massasuttes USA) I am relatively new at this typing on small screen stuff and using my finger for text input has been nothing short of a major pain in the ass. I would simply avoid using the keyboard on my wife's iTouch. That seriously limits what you can do. Apparently small fingers are required and I don't qualify. :-((
I had a BFO, blinding flash of the obvious and realized what I wanted an Ipad for and bought one. So, now I had to deal with this typing thing.
The pogo Sketch stylus has solved that problem. It is terrific. It is not very good for fine pointing positioning or selecting, but it works super for typing on the IPad and iTouch. While the keyboard is much bigger on the iPad, i stillI find that you have to hover the iPad keyboard during the entire typing session and I can't do that conformability. This little device makes the iTouch and iPad quite usable.
I am very very happy with the product.
The BFO, was that I really did not want or need a productivity tool. I wanted an entertainment/surfing tool. The iPad has filled that requirement very nicely. Surfing the web is so different, more intense, more like a book with an unlimited plot and with incredibly beautiful vibrant color inches from my face.
Love it June 8, 2010 Mazelle Bohacz (Dallas, TX) I love this. I wish I'd bought this first - I bought another one sans clip from the same company. The clip-on is so convenient. I'll buy more.
Great item January 30, 2010 LesleyLou (BAYPORT, NY, US) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This turned out to be a great purchase. It's a cute pink stylus for my ipod touch and makes typing very easy especially since I have long nails :)
